The dynamic group Southern Avenue hailing from Memphis creates a beautiful, organic soul, blues and R&B sonic combination when they make music. And let me tell you - this fiery group puts on a show. Their music just feels so good and is so FUN. Combine the powerful vocals of Tierinii, The guitar phenomenon Ori, Tikyra a goddess on the kit, and round it out with keys player Jeremy: you’ve got chemistry.
This shoot was thrilling. I had my camera on me all day waiting for the go that Tikyra (Drums, Vocals) and Tierinii (Lead Vocals) of Southern Avenue were able to stop by FauxyFurr Vintage + Handmade’s Lodge at the 2019 Waterfront Blues Festival, 1 year ago. These Women graced us with a visit, saying hi to their festival pals Jack and Jill at FauxyFurr, and a quick photo shoot on Portland’s waterfront inside the busy festival boundaries. Jack was kindly rerouting foot traffic to allow me to capture some great moments. I felt like a star myself stopping traffic and getting the opportunity to photograph the talented Sisters of Southern Avenue and Marley the tour pup. I dislike getting in your way but thank you for the few minutes to let me rock our shoot.
